Craft Boutique – Huge Success!
There were 13 Vendors at our 15th Annual Craft Boutique at our Van Wyck Homestead the weekend after Thanksgiving. Saturday was very very windy – with wind gusts up to 55 mph – but it didn’t stop FHS members and other visitors from stopping in and shopping.
On Sunday, - a perfect sunny, 60 degree day – Santa came with his 1890s Antique Sleigh, and Steve Lynch took pictures of children and families with Santa. “Thank You” Santa ! –Mike Potter, and Malcolm Mills, - East Fishkill Historical Society - for bringing Santa’s Sled.
Visitors enjoyed a plethora of baked goods in our 1732 kitchen, and many bought our famous made-to-order Apple Fritters. Our Fishkill Historical Society netted over $3,200 from this year’s Craft Boutique – which includes the proceeds from the Santa photo shoot, sales of baked goods, and Raffle Tickets sold over the weekend.
“Thank You” to everyone who helped make the Craft Boutique weekend such a huge success once again – there were at least 10 volunteers each day (some were there all weekend), and “Thanks” to those volunteers who worked behind-the-scenes to remove all, or most, of the furniture from our Homestead to make the necessary room for Vendors’ sales spaces – and then returned to put all of the furniture and historic artifacts back into our Museum. Special “Thanks” to the “Apple Fritters Gang”, and Amy and Helga Mackenzie for organizing a very successful Craft Boutique once again !
